DUSC SHARES UNIFORMS AROUND THE WORLD
Last fall, two DUSC players -- Eyob Ford U-11 Gold, and Colin O'Connor U-17 -- collected, sorted, and packed over 500 pounds of soccer uniforms for distribution to youth soccer groups around the world through the Soccer Recycle Project.

In February, three duffel bags were delivered to the Ethiopia Orphan Soccer League. Each bag contained 24 complete kits, balls, pumps, coach's shirt: everything needed to outfit an entire team!
Also in February, Eyob traveled to Guatemala with his mom and his sister to deliver three duffel bags to Safe Passage, a program that provides academic and health services to children and families who live and work in and around the Guatemala City dump. They are thrilled to share these pictures of the newly outfitted teams.

Four more duffel bags are ready for delivery. If you have travel plans this spring or summer and would like to act as courier for Soccer Recycle, please contact Linda Ford, coordinator of the DUSC U-11 Gold team to make the necessary arrangements.
Uniform collections are ongoing. Soccer Recycle accepts uniform jerseys, shorts, socks, cleats and flat-soled soccer shoes, balls, pumps, goalkeeping gloves, pinnies, coach's shirts, ref shirts, extra shoe laces.
Donations can be made directly to Linda Ford on Mondays at Pier 40 at 7pm, Thursdays at Chelsea Waterside at 7pm or by calling Linda at (646) 221-9687.
If you or your children would like to help with this effort, please volunteer. It's great work.
